RESOURCING
In Craniosacral Therapy, we often speak about “resourcing” — a way of supporting ourselves that brings a sense of ease, safety, and regulation to the nervous system. A resource might be something simple yet deeply personal: a memory, a place, a piece of music, the warmth of a beloved pet. These moments or images can offer a powerful reminder to the body that it knows how to feel well — even amidst stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.
Engaging with a resource supports the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of us responsible for rest, digestion, and repair. It’s more than just a “happy place”; it’s a tangible way to connect with safety and wellbeing on a cellular level.
I often find this sense of resourcing through painting. The images I create help to anchor me — they offer a quiet reminder of balance, softness, and something deeper within. Below, I’m sharing a few of my paintings that have “resourced” me. I hope they may offer you a sense of calm or connection too.
